Collaborative and experiential creation of a vestimenary art installation and performance inspired by traditional Transylvanian costumes and decorations. We will visit the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania and go for day trips to villages in the area to collect inspiration and to buy used clothes and textiles. Participating artists will have the chance to explore and experience the local culture, to bring diverse elements together and create dialogues culminating in an installation, a clothes collection, a performance and a video. 

The traditional costumes of Transylvania will be explored and used as inspiration for the collective creation TransyReMode, inspiring the public to be fashion-free and to create by exploring and redsiscovering traditional elements. Important aspects are ‘home made’ and recycling of old clothes, as well motives (ethnography) as materials, in a spirit of de- and recomposing, rethinking and reusing.

We will create a Fashion Show performance as means to disseminate the results. Creations from the TransyMusic project will be integrated. A video artist will document the process and the material will be somehow integrated too in the installation/performace.
